Pat Austin
Sometimes I just feel sick of dreamy sweet colour of those English roses. Sorry for using this word to describe the DA rose hahaha. Then came the Pat Austin, the lively and sassy orange one, named after David Austin's wife. And I think he made the right decision to so name. I couldn't help falling for his wife also, lolsss.
Growing the Pat Austin in my garden is generally as same as growing the other english roses in the way that there would never look like ones in the catalogue. Pat Austin in my garden drops very fast. Just only a day that I can appreciate its pretty flowers. Sunlight here is way too strong for little Pat to be beautifully there in its container. To avoid this problem, I simply cut them flowers and vase'em up. Does this help? No. Sorry to disappoint you. Pat Austin's petals are too delicate to survive the temperature in my country though. Sad. However, shouldn't I regret that. Pat Austin is considerably flowering and good repeating. I'll take this as a compensation instead lol.
They should have had more petals unless the weather wasn't good enough. |

Heritage
The very beneficial feature of Heritage rose is it's most frequent flowering, compared to the other roses in my garden. I was buying this David Austin's English rose hybrid firstly because it was bred in the year 1984, the same year I was born. I guess it represents me though, hehe. Additionally its blush pink colour is considerably attractive. It's rare colour I could buy from my local tree shop, bear in mind that the common shades of roses here in Thailand are those of vivid and intense colour. Thus, when you saw this kind of pink, you wanna own it then haha xD

Abraham Darby
One of my favvvv'rit English roses is Abraham Darby. I bought it without having a name tag. What I need to do then is trying to search for its name. I need to re-plant it as it was grown in the chaff so I moved it to a better rich and well-drained soiling. I need to feed it food and protect it from disease. These were done just to reveal its true beauty. And here is the result...

Apparently seen its ruffling petals |
This blossom was of the winter. So no doubt it looks healthier. |
Fully bloom of Abraham Darby |
As far as I have a record of it, it spends about 3 weeks to finish its flowering competency.
In my opinion, Abraham Darby does its job very well in Thailand. It suits every weather condition; heat, rain or dryness. In the summer, although Abraham Darby appears smaller, its beautiful shape still remains. I wonder why it's not been listed in David Austin's recommended variety. Or I should consider growing the non-listed in my area instead, lol.

Evelyn
David Austin's Evelyn rose is the first rose in my English rose collection. I've grown it for about 8 months (up to Jan,2012). This rose thus has survived Thailand's rainy season and Thailand's unique winter ;P That means, different season, different appearance.
Colour is more vivid at the state of opening |
Personally I think this happened due to heat and rain. |
Full bloom of Evelyn in rainy season. |
3 months since bought |
See how it gave the first flower during the period when temperature was running low, 18 degree C. |
It is far more beautiful than in rainy season. |
Evelyn, taken with Heritage. Nice weather simply made the flower bigger. |
8 months since bought. Thinking it's time to find a new pot. |
